Google Maps Lookup Not Finding Things
So I tried something different, based on your comment, tomas, about "when I find centre of London, Ontario and then search..." So I asked it to find "London Ontario Canada" (which, for whatever reason, it would not find the othe…

Google Maps Lookup Not Finding Things
"London Ontario Canada bed & breakfast" (or "and" in place of "&" - doesn't matter) will turn up a couple dozen B&Bs in Google Maps or NavFree, including these: "London Ontario Canada Woodfield Be…

tomas, I wasn't searching in Google. I was searching in Google Maps. One presumes that's what the Google Maps API provides. Furthermore: The places eliminated are not necessarily "the furthest away." For example: Every bed &a…

tomas, Yes: It is 1.0.35 jacob, Now go to the Google Maps app and type in "London Ontario Canada hotels" and see how many you get. Hotels or B&Bs: I got maybe a half-dozen of each via Navigator's interface to Google Maps. Via…

I'll have to check it when I get home, but I'm fairly confident I have whatever is the latest. I always update fairly promptly when I see Play Store update notifications. In fact: I'm pretty certain I manually checked for any app up…

tomas, Tried it. In fact: One time in the past, when that happened, I rebooted the tablet and the lookup worked. (That was prior to my replacing Samsung's buggy JB 4.1.1 with CM.) That "fixed" it. Reboot didn't work this tim…

TomTom Map On Device Factory Reset?
Okay, that worked! Received an email from MapFactor's RT, telling me to restart Navigator, specifying the paid-for maps. Again got a "key error," answered "Yes" to "Do you want to correct this?" That again broug…

I have an email this morning from the RT, saying I should be good to go. Looks like a result of my responding to that dialogue? I'll let you know after I get home this evening. Jim

So the thing that comes up and asks you for the email address and transaction i.d. doesn't actually do anything? In that case perhaps you should remove it from the application? You still want me to email that transaction i.d. and the logs to.…

It came up with a requester when I tried to run it. I put in my email address and the aforementioned "Transaction ID" and got back "this may take up to 24 hours." Okay. But then I went back in and... the thing won't even …

I have a "Transaction ID" I received in an acknowledgement of my PayPal transaction. Is that what you mean?

Tomtom maps licence
So, unlike everything else I have that runs on Android: I can't use these on my tablet or my phone, as the mood or needs strike? Not a big loss, as I've found the OSM maps to be far superior to the TomTom maps. At least for use with MapF…

huckrorick, I had that happen to me when I first loaded maps. I think it happened, again, when I added a U.S. state. IIRC: Exiting MapFactor Navigator and re-starting it fixed the problem. You have to make sure to actually "Exit," usin…

Have to issue another correction/retraction, again: With my apologies. I knew there was something that was bothering me about that screenshot, vs. what I wrote I thought it was. That flag is a destinaton flag, not a start flag. And now I recall w…

Inane Routing
Please disregard, with my apologies. User error. I'd loaded the TT map for Wisconsin, but not the OSM one. So, naturally, there was a rather significant lack of roads. Once I loaded the missing map, a sane route appeared. (With detail.) J…

Oops! No, can't check anymore. I downloaded maps for Canada and the states surrounding Michigan, last night, to do the route experiments I noted elsewhere, and I noticed it downloaded a new Michigan map, as well. FWIW: The map at the time of…

Another data point: I changed to using the OSM map and had it route me from home to Mio (the route in the original question). It chose M33 from exit 202 on I-75. I suppose the TT maps will be useful for street addresses, but I'm becoming disi…

I-75's speed limit would be 70 MPH. 28 MPH is not ever a speed limit anywhere in Michigan. (At least nowhere I've ever been.) They always go in 5 MPH increments. I can't find the speed limit for M33, but the default rural highway …

I'm beginning to wonder if that $26 and change for the TomTom maps was a good investment. Try mapping: Departure: Tahquamenon Falls, Michigan Destination: Grand Marais, Michigan in both the TomTom and the free map. The TomTom map runs you a…

Departure: Clarkston, Michigan Destination: Mio, Michigan MFN takes one to I-75 exit 212, than back east to Michigan highway 33. Google and my wife's TomTom exits at I-75 exit 202, which puts one on MI-33, straight off. Jim
