Australian data won't download

    The data for Australia won't download for Navigator for PC (free edition). I have downloaded UK & Japan, but Australia goes through the screens in the setup utility, but the download finishes instantly, reports it is successful, but nothing is downloaded. Next time the setup is run it show Australia as not installed. I have tried restarting the setup routine & rebooting the PC. Checking the box to download all the Australasian files results in everything except Australia being installed.

    Is it the first time you downloaded Australia? Can you look at
    "c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MapFactor\SetupUtilityFree\Data\" (beware of hidden directory) and check that there is no australia_osm.mca file? What windows do you use?

    Australia_osm.mca is present - 48,458Kb (properties give 49,620,615 bytes). I am using WinXP Home edition SP3.

    that's correct size - it "finishes instantly" because there is nothing to download. Do you see the data in PC Navigator? Newer version of setup utility handles data/updates differently (there is no longer extra record in registry), so I would postpone the test there. Ok?

    That is the problem - the Australian data doesn't appear in PC navigator

    Can you please send me the navigator.log.txt file? It should be in
    "c:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Navigator OSM\10.1\"

    Can you check the md5?

    Neither Setup Utility nor PC navigator detect the data, so the header could be corrupted (?). Can you delete the file and download it again?

    That sorted the problem. A list of the MD5's may be a useful addition to the list of downloadable maps.

    thanks for good news. Newer version of Setup Utility (10.2.x) already verifies md5 of downloaded data. We plan to release it this month ...
