Perhaps i can add some observations to wing350's, also on a Lenovo Thinkpad 2.
Selecting Broadcom GNNS sensor does not get a fix, but when another app (like bing maps) accesses the sensor first, it will show on Mapfactor the GPS position last used by the other app. Keeping the other app active in the background, will enable Mapfactor to get the actual time and position for at least 20 seconds.
It seems Mapfactor only accesses the last buffered position info, but misses the actual events. (just my 2 cents)
