How to import a route into mapfactor navigator free (Android mobile phone)???
  • I tried that way:

generate a kmz-file in google earth

convert this kmz-file with GPSies in a csv-file

     with digger qt:

create a new import (named 123)   driver type: comma separated values driver in UTF-8 encoding (CSV)

    insert the csv-file   Coordinae system: WGS84 (dd*mm,mmm)

    Source data columns: Longitude-Longitude Latitude-Latidude

    single icon for all records
Browse image: insert an icon-file      detail und 1:200000

    data source type: user data

source column 1 - 3 nur Table activated

    compress imported data ticking off

save configuration and run import pressed
    indication: import finished
mca-file imported into mobilephone - navigator

but there is nothing in my routes.

It doesn´t work. Can you help my, where is the fault?

    Thanks ceefle

Usually you don't generate a route with DiggerQT, you generate a kind of a map. This one contains icons or line, depending on the source you are working with. This generated map shows its symbols on the navigatorfree-maps on top. For a track, something like a route without routing-function, you see a line, as long as you gave it a color.

You wrote "single icon for all records". This seems to me, that your csv-file contains waypoints and not a track or route. In this case you should see lots of your icons on the map. But if you want a line for your route, you have to insure, that you import a route or track to DiggerQT.

Converting "kmz" into "gpx" is easly done with Routeconverter (http://www.routeconverter.de). Make sure you export the gpx as a route or track! You even may use GPSies, but export as GPX Track or GPX route!

*-:)Very nice is to generate a route with http://osrm.at . Here you can export a gpx-file based on OpenStreetMap-maps.

Import the gpx-file into DiggerQT. DiggerQT should tell you in the second window "Imported data meaning: Meaning of imported data is line"

On the next window double-click into the empty white cell under "Style" and play with the possible values there. Good is "line width for detail zoom = 8, minimal line width = 4, shrinking ratio = 10". Important is the "fill colour". Change it into a nice (visible) color like green (15D900). Confirm with "OK"
I usually change the value from "Maximal zoom" into 1 000 000, so the line is good visible, when zooming far out.

Next window just activate "Name" and after that generate your map.

    Hope, this helps.

  • Hello crocodilefarm,

Thank you for your answer, but how can I import a gpx-file into digger qt?

It shows only following data source type:

    Arcinfo Driver

    Comma Separated Value Driver

    sBase Driver

Driver for set of JPEG files

    MapInfo Driver

    Microsoft Access Driver

    Microsoft Exel Driver

    ODBC

    Postgre SQL

    SQ Lite version 3 or

or it is better to use an other digger version (which one)?

After creating the map, in which folder do I have to import the map?

    In Navigator - data?

    With kind regards

    ceefle

  • Hi ceefle,

if you don't work with Digger 12, than download it from here:

    http://download.mapfactor.com/digger_12.zip

With this version you can import gpx-files.

Put your own created map into that folder, where all the other mca-files are.
  • Thank you very much,

    it works wonderful.

Again, thank you for your help.

    With best regards, ceefle
