always on top

Is there a setting that will prevent the maps from always being on top? I can't seem to find it. I have a touchscreen interface which points to other ongoing apps while in the car, ie: music, weather, etc, but they won't show up with the navigation running. It seems as if the navigation is forced to the front at all times. Thanks.

Thanks. That does work, but it takes a few extra steps to get there and as we all know, those few extra steps while driving aren't always easy or safe.I'm wondering if there is a setting in a .xml or other settings file that I can tweak to prevent the navigation app from forcing its way to the foreground.
