nav free 12 doesn't see my gps receiver

nav free 12 doesn't see my gps receiver,it transmits on com4.,How can i force this,I am using gpsgate.
on the forum someone said modify settings xml,but when I open the files in x86/navigator 12/pc navigator/config
they appear to be empty
OS is win7-64 -

I also have issues. Installed on a HP Elitepad 900 (Windows 8 32 bit) with built in GPS receiver. Device Manager says it is a Broadcom GNSS Geolocation Sensor...works fine with Bing Maps but not detected by Navigator....any suggestions or clues?Cheers

As an update, I think the problem could be an incompatibility with Windows 8 on the tablet....this post seems to indicate that Win8 doesn't support virtual COM ports and Navigator only seems to look for the GPS on a COM port http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsdesktop/en-US/c83dd941-0e03-448c-a438-33c573a6a22d/windows-8-virtual-com-port-supportIf this is the case then a lot of Navigator users will, in the future, be unable to use the s\w on new tablets running Win8

I have recently purchased Acer w3-810 Windows 8 Tablet and V12 (paid for) works perfectly.
As the Tablet does not have inbuilt BlueTooth, I use my "External" BT gps unit (bought from Mapfactor about 3 years ago) -

on Early Maps Access should be within 1hour (after server sync) update to 12.3.0 (all applications). The PC Navigator contains already patch for Windows 8 Sensor API, so it could hopefully help you ...
