This is a rewrite of two posts in the "GLES alpha version" topic. The bug is in the 1.6.x version, but possibly also in the 1.5.x series.

I don't know whether this is due to the gles version or whether it is a regression and should be placed in "Test of android version 1.6x".

In the Dutch tts the token Cv-RO-00-01 for roundabout is never spoken (the token A-RO-00-00 is).

I tried with SVOX tts voice and the Google speech Dutch voice: Both simply skip it. "Rotonde" is the Dutch word for roundabout, but I tried even with other words. The token is simply skipped. I also changed the order like "Roundabout, after 500 meter, take .." and "After 500 meter, Roundabout, Take the ..". The word rotonde is simply not spoke.

I also tried with the Google tts English UK and that one works.

I have no idea whether this also influences other languages.

Feedback on my mentioned bug:

The issue in this case was for the Dutch language (nl) the missing:

<type>roundabout_simple_later</type>

<file>Bw-,%DISTANCE_AND_UNIT,-10</file>

<file>A-SM-0,%MANOEUVRE_ID,-00</file>

</manoeuvre>

Therefore it took the standard set from <languages>any_other</languages>:

That one was:

<type>roundabout_simple_later</type>

<file>Bw-,%DISTANCE_AND_UNIT,-10</file>

<file>A-SM-0,%MANOEUVRE_ID,-00</file>

</manoeuvre>

Which is incorrect. It says" Take the, After xyz meters, go straight on"

So I changed that one as well to:

<type>roundabout_simple_later</type>

<file>Bw-,%DISTANCE_AND_UNIT,-10</file>

<file>A-SM-0,%MANOEUVRE_ID,-00</file>

</manoeuvre>

It now says: "After xyz meters, Roundabout, go straight on"

I will send a mail with the attached navigation.xml to @Lubos and @MDX.

I also include the tts.xml as I made some changes to the Dutch phrases to align better with "all the other" nav apps available (I used 5 the past 3 weeks).

@mdx While you are already at it.... Please consider my changes for German..... All other languages are untouched, so it doesn't hurt anybody. (Dropbox, I cannot give you the link but you would find it using the forum search)

If so I will incorporate them.

EDIT: Never mind. Using a simple diff I already discovered that the mnf forum and the android-hilfe tts are the same.

Just in case:

My current file version is based on Navigator 1.6.13.

@chattiewoman: Yes, I did take those ones.

I did a simple: diff -DVERSION1 tts.xml tts-de-mnf.xml > merged.xml

Then a manual check & change,

Differences between:

#ifndef VERSION1
&lt;version 1&gt;
#else /* VERSION1 */
&lt;version 2&gt;
#endif /* VERSION1 */

Manually take correct version.

Then a grep -v '^#if' merged.xml | grep -v '^#endif' > clean-tts.xml

For navigation.xml I did the same.

These are the new merged ones.

@MDX: Can you please follow up?

Note: There is an error in the tts.xml at line 509:

<token>RC-NEW-MESSAGE</token>

<text>New message received.</text>

</phrase>

</tts_data>

<tts_data language="en" region="us">

<id>sound-en-tts</id>

<name>Synthetized English</name>

That's the line starting with <tts_data language="en" region="us">.

This error is already quite long in the file but I can't find it.

It is: error on line 509 at column 1: Extra content at the end of the document

I assume it is not at that position but slightly earlier, but as said: I simply can't find it.

@mdx: Can you please give some feedback as to how Mapfactor deals with these kind of user enhancements?

Will you implement them? And if so when (approximately)?
