Windows mobile 6.0 + bluetooth
  • I have installed free 12.3.0. on a Blue angel PDA running windows mobile 6.0. When seaching for my bluetooth GPS receiver it is found (BT-541) but when selecting I get:

    Fix: Failed to connect.

I have a second HTC Blue Angel running Windows Mobile 2003 second edition which works perfectly.

both PDA's work when using Garmin XT and TomTom navigator 7.

Pair the GPS receiver then goto Settings > Connections >External GPS select the Programs tab and set the GPS program port to com5.

Select the Hardware tab and set the port to that used when pairing and the Baud rate to 4800

Select the Access tab and place a check mark next to Manage GPS automatically

    Install Navigator Fee then:

Edit settings.xml and default_settings.xml by replacing anything between <com> and </com> with the following:

    <port>COM0</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM0</friendly_name>
    <port>COM1</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
             <friendly_name>COM1</friendly_name>
    <port>COM2</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM2</friendly_name>
    <port>COM3</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM3</friendly_name>
    <port>COM4</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM4</friendly_name>
    <port>COM5</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM5</friendly_name>
    <port>COM6</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM6</friendly_name>
    <port>COM7</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM7</friendly_name>
    <port>COM8</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM8</friendly_name>
    <port>COM9</port>
              <speed>4800</speed>
              <friendly_name>COM9</friendly_name>

Switch the Bluetooth GPS receiver off and soft reset the blue angel PDA.

When reset complete switch Bluetooth gps receiver on.

Start Navigator and search for receiver when found set com port manually to 4800 baud.

When info from receiver is displayed DO NOT click OK but close the screen by clicking the x at the top right.

Unfortunatly each time navigator is started I have to search for the receiver again

If anyone knows why or the solution to have to search for the receiver each time navigator is started please respond.

    Thanks
