    How to set nearest POI display during navigation ?

    What did I missed ?

    I don't use HD Traffic and I'm on Android 6 or 8.

    Hi Stepan!

    1) The following error occures for me:

    *) Information about nearest petrol station is activated
    *) Simulating a route from 48.13842788/14.05499645 to 48.14543837/14.04659155

    The information on screen shows "No result found" for petrol station which is correct. When stopping simulation MFN crashes.

    2) I did not find a "new map theme based on OSM"

    3) The errors from previous version still exist.

    @Jambafee where do you activate nearest POI ?

    I only noticed a logo on the map, gas station by default, a clic on it open a POI menu to choose an other.

    just choose POI category you want, no need to do anything else

    In simulation mode (or navigation mode, but I think only when standing or drivinig slowly):

    long press on map screen
    "Hide near POI distance" to disable this feature or
    "Show near POI distance" to activate the feature and then select a POI

    I tried on stand by mode, not navigation or simulation mode, that's why I couldn't.

    The Android 15 navigation bar is overlayed by some MFN (8.0.7) menu points, for example in
    Settings - Navigation - the last option "Speed and camera warnings" is placed behind the navigation bar and therefore hard to select.

    In version 7.3.77 it was okay.

    If the text size of the house numbers has been changed, the zoom no longer works properly. When you zoom in, they actually get smaller. That could be fixed at some point.

    Petrol stations show on phone when not connected to car but do not display when connected to car display via Android Auto. The car is an Audi 35tfsi 2022 and the phone is a Samsung A52. Version 8.0.14. Is this a problem or normal?

    At the begining of this subject you confirmed that version 8.0.x was Android 6 compatible.

    Effectively, I've been using it on my Samsung Galaxy S5 under 6.0, until version 8.0.17 installed.

    Now, I can't update, Google play says that my device is not compatible for version 8.0.19, android 7 required !

    What's the problem ?

    Edit : I tried to install the last version available from the link and the update failed !

    problem is Google policy, we had to support 16KB memory page size

    I'm proceeding with Google support and they don't see what you mean.

    What is the problem beween Android 6 and 7 (now required) ?

    To ensure your app works correctly on the latest versions of Android, Google Play requires all apps targeting Android 15+ to support 16 KB memory page sizes.

    From Nov 1, 2025, if your app updates do not support 16 KB memory page sizes, you won't be able to release these updates.

    I don't understand more, I'm talking about Android 6 compatibility, what's the link with Android 15+ ?

    You provide a new 8.0.x version that is Ok with Android 6 and suddenly, no more compatibility !

    My S5 works perfectly, your app too, what's the point ?

    Android 6 does not support 16KB memory page size

    we had to updated some libraries which do not work on Android 6
    we would not be able to release updates if we didn;t implement this Google policy

    early versions 8 were released prior to this implementation

    Ok, now, I think I understand.

    I tried to contact Google Play support, 6 messages and answers, I could speak to a goldfish with better results !

    Anyway, thanks for your precisions and the 8.0.17 version I continue to use without problems.

    With apkpure I saved the 7.3.77 (last official for me), and the 8.0.17 (last working).

    For information, I still use Mapfactor Navigator 6.2.18 under Android 4.4.2 on my Galaxy Tab3 10" with updated maps. It's my favorite onroad tool.

    Would like to find out more about it i.e. how to access it, use it or even see it.

    Thanks Tomas but I cannot see a new theme. Still have 5 Day modes and 2 Night modes (I am sure these are the same ones prior to the update but I could be wrong ????).

    What's the name of the new theme?

    @stavrich: Did you customize your "default_album.style" or "album.style"? These files contain the two new themes.

    @JambaFee - Tomas solved my problem. This is Tomas solution :-
    "delete your existing file (album.style) in settings /advanced /backup /reset"

    It worked for me. I lost a couple of my customised themes but nothing to worry a about - easy to recreate.

    Hi All
    This is about an issue found when decided to start using Mapfactor in landscape mode

    V8.0.23 - Sony Xperia 1 IV - Android v13

    - Phone set to portrait and "Auto rotate " to Off.
    - Mapfactor set to - Orientation > Lock Screen Rotation > Rotation 

    Behaviour when phone placed in Landscape position in phone holder :-</span>

    After app loaded, display is displayed in landscape mode - as expected. 

    Navigation is in landscape mode as well.

    Click on "Route Info" or "My Places" or "Settings " the displays are in Portrait mode - not as expected. 

    Click on "Tools" it opens in Landscape mode. but clicking on any of the tools they open in Portrait mode.

    Now if the phone is set to "Auto Rotate" ON then all Mapfactor screens display in landscape mode but this means I have to keep changing the phone settings on/off every time I use Mapfactor and this is not a workaround I want. (and if this is the solution then why having the "Orientation" setting)

    I don't think this is right and hopefully could be very easy to correct, unless of course, is only happening to my phone. :-)
