Hi,

I'm trying to restore Navigator backup files I've created in Android 8.

In Android 8 the backup files were located in

Android/data/com.mapfactor.navigator/files/navigator/backup

I copied them to exactly the same location in Android 11.

However the Navigator app doesn't see the files.

In order to found out where it keeps backup files I created a backup and the files are nowhere!

Yet the app still shows the backup available to restore.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I copied the backup folder over to Android/data/com.mapfactor.navigator/files/navigator/

but the app still doesn't see it.

Its current location is

Android/data/com.mapfactor.navigator/files/navigator/backup/20211018101759

Copied files into Android/data/ won't be readable for apps due to Android 11 storage policy:

@tomas: the files are fine as I copied them over from the working app.

I was able to restore them in Android 8.1 phone.

Let me ask the question the other way round.

I've just backed up my current Navigator settings and places in Android 11.

How can I transfer that backup to another Android 11 phone?

as Lubos pointed out, it is not easy to access protected folders in Android 11

why don't you backup to Google Drive and restore on another device the same way

Yep, that's the only way to do it now.

Looks like an offline backup facility becomes useless in Android 11.

It'd nice to have setting and places backed up to Android/media/

That folder is still accessible for users.
