TomTom token?

Is there any way to buy a token or code for a TomTom map rather than paying "in app" ?
My brother uses the free OSM, but regularly comments on being sent up impossible routes or being told certain roads don't link when they do, so I was going to get him the TomTom map for Christmas, but can't see any way to do it as a present ratheer than handing him cash. -
