"Trailing" arrows behind icon during nav

Is there any way to disable the trailing arrows that show you the route you have already traveled (behind you)? I know the route I took to get me where I'm at right now...I find them really distracting and would love to disable them.

For my person I disagree. I find them helpful especially in cities where there are crossings or circles with lots of streets coming in/going out.

Would like to know which parameter in which xml is used to yes or no show the trailing arrows. So far i do not experience a benefit from these.

Try to set the following param to 1 :
<trail_length>200</trail_length>
