Unexplained behaviour

I am using Navigator 7.1.44 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A running Android 7.1.1.Sometimes when I navigate a route the green button in the lower right hand corner of the screen first shows a compass rose with the letter 'N' rather than the navigate arrow. When I press this it changes to the word 'MODE'. Navigation still works after a fashion but the current location does not stay in the centre of the screen. Also the compass bar at the top of the screen is absent.Please can someone explain what is happening and how to revert to 'proper' navigation.

please update Navigator, it has already been fixed

Thank you Tomas my tablet updated to 7.1.46 at 05:47 this morning. All seem fine now.
