Download problem - is it a bug or did I do something wrong?

Hi,
I don't download map updates the minute they become available but only when I drive in a region with an update.
On Monday I checked the Download Manager and found 1.1 GB of new maps that I decided to install.
I began downloading everything; when I was about halfway through, I had to leave for a while and cancelled the download until I would have WiFi again.
Ever since then I have been told that all my maps are up to date, 0MB new.
Yet when I cancelled the download, more than 500 MB were still outstanding.
How can this be?
(Some of the maps that are supposedly up to date are from the beginning of May, others from April.) -
