Using installed POI's

I am currently trying to import old POI's from my TomTom but once I've finished, will these be visible as "My Places", or will they be in the POI list which is already available?
The reason is I hope to be able to navigate to a POI in my list which is "near to destination", which you can't do with places in "My Places".

I did. Apart from Digger not working, I have no clue when some threads say things like "search imports" cos I can't find that anywhere.

go to Search, select POI - you will see Search imports
