Hi, Newbie Buster_gutte needs help with Navigator 11/CarTrek600.

    My Christmas present is a CARTREK600 'satnav' running Navigator v11.0.28.
    Although brand new, it had no User instructions included. I have downloaded several 'quick start' .pdf files from t'internet and also s/ware manuals, but have found none that directly describe either the device or installed f/ware. 
    The forum discussions here assume that I have a fully functional device
    Intuitive attempts at creating a route have always resulted in 'no route available'.
    Questions- (1) has anyone else got the same device/s/ware? (2) do i have to calibrate the GPS to enable route calc?
    Any advice would be most helpful
