Inputting POI data sets

In Navigator is there an easy way to input POI data?
I have various files (generally formatted as .csv with first line defing name address, longitude and latitude) that I want to use.
The only (cumbersome) way I have found is to input them via Map Explorer and then move them across. Am I missing something simple?

you can import POIs using Mapexplorer and these will show in PC Navigator without you copying anything. To see imported POIs in Pocket Navigator, you do need to copy it.

It still remains a complex operation and also an issue if you want to develop POI datasets on a desktop and the transfer to a car pc. Surely a better way would be the ability to directly import a csv file into Navigator?
