Test of Android version 3.1.x
The POI administration type crash seems to be linked to the bank POIs. Because bank POIs are currently shown as question marks on the map, and Mapfactor crashes when we try to get infos about them.

Fastest and shortest path: an example of bad route calculations
Since there's a priority setting why not, like already said, enable small local roads as an app default, with a low priority so they're only used when it would be a huge detour to do otherwise.

About the alternative sound output channel: when selected, if the phone is set in silent or vibrate mode, we have to increase the volume (and so get out of these modes) to hear the voices. And after closing MapFactor, we have to switch back to silen…

Looking great! And that new HD traffic feature isn't expensive. Small bug: the number of satellites panel shows the GPS accuracy (like the GPS accuracy panel).

In this case, based on OpenPoiMap, it seems to be highway=residential (to be pasted in User POIs).

Fastest and shortest path: an example of bad route calculations
One way to fix this would be to do the same as IQ Routes: anonymously record the travel speed, time and day (basically upload gpx traces). And then determine the average speed on each road segment per time and day. Of course, that would go against …

Indeed, here's the result with small local roads enabled: - Fastest (6.4 km, 8 min) So, like hvdwolf, I highly suggest enabling by default small local roads, at least for osm.

Switch NMEA and GPX positions in record menu
I didn't know about the beta versions, thanks! On 2.1.97, the options and menus look like on this page: https://www.mapfactor.com/en/support/did-you-know/mapfactor-gps-navigation-record-journey/ The new version is better. And the auto recordin…

1. Yes, and that's a good thing. Maybe the angle difference from 90° multiples could be lowered, though I don't know what it is now. 2. Well, that's great news! It's better to know that it's low priority than not planned at…

has been removed from gpx 1.1, see why at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/gpsxml/conversations/messages/2222 Like - which was removed too - it can be calculated from the waypoints, so it's useless to include it.

About the roundabout, I guess it's because the angle of the exit isn't close enough to 180° or 270° to say "straight across" or "turn left". Can you take and attach a screenshot of the map where it happens? On Android, …

Strange distances to next turn shown
Yes, I was replying to tomas, our messages have crossed. ;) If tomas prefers to the see the distances 1 meter accurate, I guess we won't have it otherwise. :( I think it's an other example of something TomTom does great (like the order of…

Direction change: say the distance at the beginning of the driving instruction
I've installed Google and IVONA ones. I've also tried Acapela ones (not free), supposed to be great in French. They all sound not very natural, miles kilometers away from the recorded one.

Thanks for the info! Too bad that MapFactor doesn't want to fix it, because the recorded voices sound much better than the TTS ones. :(

When in pedestrian, change to car mode if the speed is too high (or the distance too long)
When I say 40 km, that's to prevent it to ask us to switch to car mode when we just want to plan a big walking trip. Without that, it will just stay in pedestrian mode, so I'm not sure why you don't want that feature, it can't be…

Direction change problem
I've checked it again, the road that Navigator doesn't want us to take is this one: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=50.89361&mlon=5.41843#map=19/50.89361/5.41843 While not being at 90° or more (as talked about here), the angle seems…

I think dirk205 means 50m instead of 51m. I agree too that not rounding is less clear and not necessarily more precise.

I never noticed ads, so I guess the mentioned ads are those nag screens indeed. And I agree with you about this checkbox, it's especially annoying to have one that does nothing.

Actually, you can just register a MapFactor or something username on OSM and then use the API to upload the traces: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/API_v0.6#Uploading_traces For the Visibility of GPS traces, you can use Identifiable since they…

Indeed hvdwolf, average speeds should be calculated. One way to do it would be to use the GPS traces uploaded to OSM. MapFactor already has an option to store traces, but: it's not enabled by defaultNMEA is presented before GPX, the latter bei…

Following your advice to install GSam battery monitor, I've noticed that the reading is indeed misleading. So the Navigator background apps battery use is negligible. Still, it would be better if they didn't run at all.
