Some Changes Needed for Navigation
Colors are a personal preference. Some color schemes are not even usable for color-blind people. So mentioning that "the colors of ... are the best" is very subjective. To me that would require an xml file where users could define their o…

I'm very sure MapFactor knows that link as well as every OSM related person knows that link. And there are more sites then only this link but these are mostly for specific regions. You are receiving a free app (I don't know whether you don…

Nice of you. I was also tempted but in this case I thought: "Give the man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime". (but I did the same some time ago for the English map)

In reaction to darkbert: I have done the same tests as you, but I didn't kill the tts app. However, every time the tts didn't function from Navigator I tested the app itself via the Android Text-to-speech settings ("listen to example&…

The geofabrik files are the base files. Every OSM based navigation app uses these files as the basis for their maps.

Mapfactor supports several color combinations. Did you already try them? The colors you mention are the default OpenStreetMap colors. German OpenStreetMap colors are already different (Germany has both the biggest and most active OSM community). I …

@IU0BMP: This was really to enable downloadingthe beta. If a small text file with a serial number would be provided at the same place I could easily read that text file and make the button something like "download (Beta) Navigator Free v 1.3.40…

UK Maps
Some maps are released early in the month. Others at the end of the month (UK maps and Dutch map for example). Do yo always use the same cut off date for all maps? Or for the maps at the end of the month a later changeset?

1.3.36 has an issue with favourites. Changes (or deletions) to favourites are not stored. Edit: The behavior is strange. I'm quite stubborn and every time I start Navigator I rearrange the favorites again and delete the same one. the 3rd time i…

I downloaded 1.3.36 this morning but I have no idea what has been changed. Maybe this error. I used tts this evening and it worked. Don't know on repetitive uses.

Updates are once a month, unless something is out of the ordinary. Simply check your current map date and guess the approximate following release date .

Android as of version 3 or 4 or something like that uses A-GPS data automatically if you switch it on. All those tools were created for older Android versions. AFAIK Android automatically does it for you and Navigator, or any other nav app, simply u…

Yes and No. Next to the speed setting you have the preference setting. So you have to adapt them all in the correct way. With the speed and/or the preference.

@mdx: I can do a logcat and possibly even clean up the logs a bit. Do I need to attach them to a post or do I send a mail? And I know this is a tricky one, if it is a bug and not my phone.

I had the same issue and it turned out to be a damaged SD-card. I first did a "solve what's possible" and then I reformatted the SD-card. It did fine. One week later it was damaged beyond repair. I'm afraid you have the same.
