WIN8.5 findet keinen GPS-Empfänger

Hello,
according to a big electronicshop WIN8.1 has problems to work with USB or Bluetooth GPS-Receivers because of a new internal data management and lack of adapted drivers in the softwares.
Is this right? If yes, is there a workaround available?

no sure how they arrived at their conclusion
some GPS manufacturers do not provide drivers for usb, but bluetooth should be OK
