HUD projection onto the windscreen
  • Hallo,

I'd like to suggest the addition of a HUD mode for the "Navigator" app for android.
I believe this could be very easily achieved by simply mirror-inverting the map and instructions in navigation mode (because the reflected image on the windscreen will again invert everything).
I already tried this (works best at night of course) and it is a neat little feature to have the map in your field of view, however of course, left was right and vice versa.
A picture to illustrate what I mean.

In the play-store already are a few navigation apps which offer this feature, I'd really like to see this added to "Navigator" since it's my favourite one.

    Thank you.

  • For simply HUD view You don't need "mirror-inverting' program/script.
It is possible by changing icons (mirror it in graphic program - gimp, paint etc).
I think it is possible now - editing icons, and changing colors (without map projection). Only arrows, maybe by changing fonts (by edit and mirror it) You can see street names and distance information.

    Look at:

At night, with special foil looks good.

    (edit)

One hint - try use mirror to 'convert' view.

I tried, and it works, but better without it, just mobile and good handle.

Howdy, Stranger!
