Reduce number of records recorded in nmea file

I just took a 50 minute walk and used navigator on my tablet to record (Tools/Record) where I went. It recorded almost 3000 positions. Is there a way to reduce the number of positions that are recorded? I have version 62 of navigator on a Nexus7 Android tablet. I set the vehicle to pedestrian with max speed under 4 MPH.Thanks,Norm
