Android 4.4.2 - Navigator doesn't work
close Navigator and delete data in Android settings/application manager/Navigator - then reboot your phone. If this does not help, please email logs (navigator/log folder).

Vehicle Type Should Change Automatically
not sure if this can be done as the route is calculated before you start BTW, small roads far from departure, destination and waypoints are already ignored, so your suggention more or less exists
