Reduce battery usage for pedestrian mode
I use Alpinequest when hiking. Navigator is really only of use when driving or walking around a city. You need far more detailed maps for hiking.

TTS voice
Is everyone confused or am I? What @treta needs to do is download Google TTS for his language. This should then be seen as an option. Select Google TTS then the language you downloaded.

I've got it. You should be able to select it. If you cannot then try downloading the TTS voice again.

Map download/update stops
Assuming you have Android 7 then you must change the battery settings. Go to battery then click on the three dots at top right. Click on battery optimization and check to ensure that Navigator is NOT optimised. This will allow it to continue to r…

TomTom maps and upgrades?
What you don't mention @tomas is that an additional fee is required to update Tomtom maps. Perhaps @sysadm doesn't realise this.

Hi @lubos,. Good news - 4.0.58 seems to have solved my problem with TomTom and hardware rendering. Working perfectly with maps and no crashes so far. Thanks for all your help in resolving this. Was driving me crazy.

Not that @tomas. Works fine first time after program updates then I have problems. I've also installed before with the same results.

AM I the only person having problems with TomTom maps and hardware rendering? Is it possibly linked to my map version as it is quite old? Got to resolve this given that OpenStreetMaps works fine in all modes.

Just updated to 4.0.56 and on initially opening with TomTom maps, they worked fine on hardware rendering. However every subsequent attempt to view them resulted in a blue screen with no mapping. It occasionally closes after selecting TomTom maps on…

@lubos, any other ideas as to why my TomTom maps won't render when using hardware setting? Not only doesn't it render but the app can crash as well. Can it be the version of TomTom maps I have? Any help would be appreciated.

@lubos, solved the problem with my backup as it didn't save correctly to my pc (my fault for not checking). As to the other problem regarding hardware rendering, I continue to have problems if I select TomTom maps (it either immediately close…

@hvdwolf, data is on external memory. Placed backup on internal memory but every time I try to restore, the app hangs. Also noted that I still have problems with hardware rendering which seems to be related more to TomTom maps rather than OpenStre…

Since re-installing version 4.0.48 after testing a couple of builds, Navigator doesn't recognise my local backups nor my favourites although both files are there. Am I missing the obvious?
