Public Data
The legallity is in the fact that Google spent money to buy data, or paid people to get those data (the google cars). Simply the fact that road signs, traffic signs, speed limits, or even the roads themselves, might be visible for all, does it make …

No Voice response during navigation mode
I've mentioned it in another thread as well: In Android any android app can direct its audio output to media/music, as notification, and as "phone call". When connecting bluetooth it means that the channel bluetooth is using determine…

Test of Android GLES Alpha Version
OpenGL implementations vary per mobile, per opengl version and per android version.I assume I have bad luck in this case. Today again a couple of holiday drives in software mode: no crash at all.

I used the GLES version today in software renderer mode and I drove 258 km with 18 routepoints and no single crash. Followed by a short simple navigation over 40 km and no crash.I will use the GLES version in software mode during my holiday, and in …

Another thing and now about the software renderer in the GLES version. The scale of the the text in the software version is wrong. I have to set the scale of the text to (almost) maximum to get a readible size.

I will indeed try the software rendering the coming days. Such a useful and also such an obvious suggestion (Why didn't I think of that?)Thanks

I mentioned a few topics above that I have regular crashes with the gles version. I know it is alpha, but am I the only one? (As I see no other reports)Yesterday over 187 km I had 3 crashes. The third at a moment I could really use the assistance. T…

How to correct an alleged non-existing address?
To explain a little more: It is not an error. The OpenStreetMap database is very complete apart from addresses. What Tomas means is that you can help adding those addresses.

No sorry. I can't. I'm just a user who dives a little bit deeper in the technology occasionally. This feature would require programming inside MNF, but would indeed be a nice feature. The tags are read anyway. Why not "speak" the…

No, I'm not :)Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense. However, in RouteConverter you can give the waypoint a name. It would also be nice if the tts engine could simply pronounce the name of the waypoint from the route instead of just th…

Nice! But just out of curiosity: Why do you need that many waypoints spoken by their exact number? I simulated with 12 and just because of the testing I was aware of the number, but in normal situations I wouldn't care about the number and I wo…

I agree with Tantum but at the same time I would like to display the minor roads at a lower zoomlevel as well. You really have to zoom in deep before you see them. I don't care about all the other details, but roads are important.

Bug?
I'm using the GLES alpha version 0.38.103 and I don't have this issue. I'm sure because 2-3 days ago I tested with 12 waypoints. What I did see is that when you do a simulation or real route, is that the waypoint is disabled once you h…

That's exactly the point. If he got that address online, he doesn't need an offline solution as he is online. If he got it from his address book/contacts then MNF can simply use it as long as it is in the form "street (+ number) (+ zip…

It is actually very simple. You don't need to touch the navigation.xml, you only need to modify the tts.xml. Find your language (like language="en" or language="nl")Search for "Fy-WP-19-01" in your language secti…

Changing map colours
I don't know which version you are using, but the newer versions have the color scheme editor. You can select/tap a scheme and you will get a popup enabling you to copy a scheme. From that moment you can "play" as much as you want.

Create a .gpx file without planning a route
You have to select the tab with GPX.At the bottom you have the buttons"Record as GPX", "Stop playing". The latter is inactive ("greyed out") unless you really play one of your stored gpxes.

@Tomas: From my memory (so not sure) and from Dave's reaction: What OsmAnd does is when you are closer to waypoint 2 than to waypoint 1, it skips waypoint 1. As it assumes you want to move on. So more or less the same as CoPilot.

I didn't use OsmAnd for those kind of things for a very long time now. :) I simply don't know anymore apart from the fact that it was indeed more sophisticated in that area.
