MapFactor OSM Data Processing
Hi, I know that you are feeding the 44G planet osm.bz2 dump into a mysql/mariadb database. I suppose via a number of (GIS?) scripts. But why don't you download the europe-latest.osm.bz2 and/or africa-latest.osm.bz2 from Geofabrik? They are updat…

Note that there is one week "more delay" when users having "early access" switched on can already download the maps, but the rest of the end users not yet. I do understand your impatience: I have it myself as well. On the other h…

@Dmytro_Ovdiienko: I know the logcat application and in fact it is not even necessary as you can do the same with ADB. @mdx: Coming to those logs. MNF also logs to disk and you can even set the loglevel. Are these logs (partial) excerpts from the an…

Two more observations for 2.0.19 and most probably earlier versions:When playing with icon zoom levels and then zooming in/out on the map, the app crashes frequently. The Info button not always picks up the POI info from imported POIs.

The 2.0.19 version works fine so far. However, I still think the zoom is a bit too far out. It could be my older eyes or the fact that my dashboard is so long and my windscreen about 300 meters away from my face, but the map is rather small. (I had …

@jdk417: The "loss of GPS" is a different bug (and one I have never seen b.t.w.). In my case of "stuttering" the GPS signal is not lost at all.

Today I used the GLES version again in hardware mode on a 157 km trip. It didn't crash, but it "stuttered" 3 times.Normally when driving you see the map progress with little steps. Today 3 times it "stuttered". It progresses…

When you share a favorite, it is shared as a gpx file. Either directly or as an attachment. sms does not support the direct gpx structure and neither the gpx attachment. ditto for mms.Use whatsapp, lime, mail, hangouts. Or dropbox/google drive and s…

Transfer of favourites file
MNF overwites the favourites.xml upon exit. Once you have tested, you need to really close MNF (no back button, but really close) and then copy the favourites.xml to the correct location.

@lubos: Sorry for the confusion. My image was just to display WHICH 48 km/h (30mph) remained visible when going onto the motorway. This is just an image from in the town so the 48 kmh is correct here. It is simply that it stayed on 48kmh once I was …

But I understand now what you mean. I also mentioned that MNF is "telling" me that I'm driving too fast. I'm now in doubt whether that's actually being told by the tts.

That speed warning is set at 10% above max speed. That's when I get warned when I'm speeding. But that's not the point here. The max speed sign on the right side of the screen as tag for a specific road (48 km/h) is not removed when I …

Android address search, no house number
No. This is because OpenStreetMap lacks addresses. If you search in the Netherlands, Denmark or Lithua (I think) you will find (nearly) 100% addresses. In Germany, Belgium, France and England you will find more and more addresses lately, but it'…
