Runnymede Roundabout
None of them is perfect actually. The place is public but the restriction enforcement is not strong (nobody is going to fire at you). "Discouraged" wouldn't fit either. "Destination" could be discussed: should a vehicle have…

This is also what a OSM user replied to my note: https://www.openstreetmap.org/note/378189#map=19/51.43564/-0.53747&layers=N He says that access=private would probably be fine, but I'd rather go to access=no as this means "no access to…

Looks like it is paved, but I'm not sure this road is large enough for a car. And there might be access restrictions. I opened a note on OSM for local mappers to check that and do fixing if needed. https://www.openstreetmap.org/note/378189#map…

Both Navigator 14 and Android Navigator get stuck when computing certain routes
@IU0BMP :) :) @chattiewoman Yes, that's true too. Anyway, it's installed now.

@IU0BMP Surprisingly, Google Play was still considering my 1.5.22 up-to-date this morning (hence wasn't proposing to update). Maybe the 1.6.19 is not yet available for all Android versions or devices? (Android 4.4.4, Galaxy S5)

@tomas I finally decided not to wait and to install the 1.6.19 available on download.mapfactor.com: - The ANR issue has been solved, the UI thread is no longer stuck when computing the route. That's great. - Paris-Rome pedestrian route takes ~2…

Good to know! I'll wait for the next update on Google Play, and I'll report on this forum thread right after. The bug might have been fixed, according to what you said earlier. Cheers :)

@tomas How strange. I see we are not running the same version of MFN, which may explain: - I'm running Android 4.4.4 on a Galaxy S5, and my version of MFN is 1.5.22 (free version, nice donation made however :) ). According to Google Play Store,…

@lubos Makes complete sense, thanks. At least if we can get rid of the ANR by having the routing routine executed in a dedicated thread it would be fine. The nice to have is it to be fast, but the actual need is it not to engender this ANR issue.

And you didn't have an Application Not Reponding dialog box proposing to kill the app and send a report while computing the route for half an hour? (It appears after 30 sec of unresponsiveness normally)

@tomas Thanks for this. The second issue occurs on Android only, not on a PC.But reading you the best is probably to wait for @mdx to come back. This is not urgent. Have a nice week-end

@tomas This may answers the first question even though you should ask your dev team first, if not done already: you can often gain quite a lot of computation time spending a pretty reasonable effort. (Google Navigation does it in less than 3 seconds…

Both Navigator 14 and Android Navigator get stuck when computing certain routes
Hi, I did further testing after this discussion: - I first tried a ~500Kms pedestrian route from Milan to the south of France, just to determine whether the app was freezing as well. This shown me that it doesn't, but the computation was really…

Hi @mdx, So many posts in this thread... I digged into it to find the workaround you are referring to, but to my understanding this would consist in adapting either the routing algorithm or providing separate priority settings for *_link roads. I ca…

Saying that is not nice Oldie. Maybe you and Dave are right and there is a security issue I did just not encounter before, but this is not a reason for telling me I should pass my driving licence again. I'll not elaborate further as this would …

@Dave It's annoying, but not dangerous: the driver remains the chief on board. As I don't have this problem with the default car settings but only with mine, yes, playing with these settings can obviously help. I won't switch back to …

@PrzemekSupak Sorry, I meant A13, not A6. I saved the segment where I had the issue: Test 175804128 7810633 175847819 7492037 It gives this: Corresponding OSM data is here:- A13: http://www.openstreetmap…

I had the same on the A6 highway, in France. I'm not providing any link as it looks like the issue is well known but feel free to ask. @tomas, I definitely think a rule can be introduced in the algorithm to get rid of that issue (see my previou…

Just my 2C, I think the change to bring to the algorithm would not be too complicated, even though this requires an impact analysis, as always. The rule would be close to: "routing through a (series of) sliproad(s) from a given road and to thi…
