3D map view when navigating is turned off

Hi.
I often use navigation without any route set.
Currently 3D map view is available only during navigating.
I would love to have this 3D view which will follow my movement when route is not set and navigating is turned off - of course some controls; like distance to destination, nearest movement etc. will be disabled.

What do you think about applying this kind of feature to Navigator?

Failed to download list of available maps

I have installed the latest MapFactor Navigator (beta) (0.13.27) from Android Play market.
When I start up the app, it tells me there are no maps installed and asks if I want it to download any. However, it always comes up with the following message: WARNING: Failed to download list of available maps.
I have tried un- /reinstalling the app and also rebooting my android phone (nexus s with Android 4.1) but keep running into the same message.
I have searched for the web for a solution, but cannot find one.
I would much appreciate some help.

Can zooming speedmeter, nothing seeing on screen 4 inches. Or adding option to zoom in this speedmeter font, directly application.

dear mf team,

since it seems that my old win-ce devices (Asus 696 and Fuji 570) did not survive this Saturday night and last week was for them their _last 1023 week_, Asus recognizes only time and see no satelites, Fuji sees some of them but cannot read their time, both devices are not able to show the position and fix satelites after an hour interval :-/

I decided to install mffree on Samsung GT-S5570 with Android 2.3.6(10). Application itself seems to install correctly, after the starting choice of the (czech) language and free version of maps mf downloaded sounds_cs.mca and sounds_xx_signal.mca files and also the the Earth osm map as earth_osm.mca.new but it fails to check it (it stops with and error: Chyba kontroly) and the only choice is to start dl process again.

After several attemps I compared the Android/.../temp/earth_osm.mca.new file with that from wince Asus, both having 103 MB, but the earth_osm.mca.new was filled with zeros only after say 60 MB (other dl attempts showed 55MB, 68MB) of the same bytes. Hence the dl process colapsed after some correct part of this file.

I tried to copy on my pc directly to the Android SD card the earth_osm.mca as .../temp/earth_osm.mca.new but it was completely ignored because mf started with a new dl of sound, earth_osm.mca.new, againd with the Chyba kontroly result.

If I copy earth_osm.mca, czech_republic_osm.mca from win-ce sd-card dir Navigator/Data to android sd-card Android/data/com.mapfactor.navigator/files/navigator/data (I assumed this as a final location of these files), new start of android mf leads to the notice "some data are corrupted, they will be deleted" and a new possibility do dl earth_osm.mca.new file with the same Chyba kontroly result.

Is there any chance to copy (and where?) the map files "externally" from the win-ce version to the android version together with certain special info-file containing info for mf that all maps were correctly dl and installed and mf can run without being afraid some map file is missing, please? :-)

I'm trying to find the OSM map download for Tonga. I've downloaded all maps under Oceania but no data for Tonga. There is plenty of data on OSM for the islands. Have I missed something? Thanks

Channel island Jersey / Corrupt / Empty

As the title says: The island is empty. Only an outline with 2 names of beaches. For the rest nothing.

I did a quick check on the border polygons but they seem to be correct. 2 other nav apps I tried do have the correct maps, so it seems slightly unlikely that it is an error in OSM.

Italy map update on android mapfactor app

the version of my Italy's map un android is blocked on May 2018. If i try to search manually update, the app doesn't find nothing. This is quite strange because i never experienced so much time between an update and another.

Is there some problem?

Guernsey / Corrupt / Missing / Empty

Hi!

I've tried to download the Guernsey map, both using Navigator PC and on Android, and its empty / corrupt. (No data)

On Android, if its the only map installed, MapFactor crashes when opening the "Map".

Please can a new file be made available?

I'm having a lot of problems installing the app again. It doesnt ask where to download the maps, it just downloads them straight to the internal memory. Changing location of the maps afterwards results in them being copied to the SD card but not moved i.e.they still clog up the ínternal memory. When you click on delete maps the app crashes. I'm not a happy bunny! Does anyone have the same problem? This happens on two different devices: Motorola G 2nd Gen Android 6 and Honor 8 Android 7

Map Download freezes after screen gone to sleep (* perhaps explained *)

When I start to download multiple maps over WiFi, and then screen goes to sleep, when I open Navigator again it's stuck - no WiFi bandwidth being used, and an almost empty white screen with rotating 'busy' circle in centre and grey 'Connect' box across bottom of screen.

I am unable to then use Navigator, except by force-closing it first.

IIRC It has finished one download but not any others.

I have cleared all App Data and restarted phone - no improvement.

Can this be split up in 2 columns: System | Map
eventually with a choice [v] Units split between System/Map

where you could have
- the map displaying the Local speed limits (icon)
- the System panels/directions in another choice

examples:
UK car driving in EU: system in Imperial, map in Metric
EU car driving in UK: system in Metric, map in Imperial
CDN car driving in USA: system in Metric, map in American
USA car driving in CDN: system in American, map in Metric

I'm struggling making the conversion in my head between Imperial and metrics in busy traffic.
Cars dash is metric, instruction is yards (yd) miles (mi)100. I'm not used to Yards or Miles
However I do like to see the speed limit as it is on the road.

In Arkel in The Netherlands the street Folkertstraat between the Prinses Margrietstraat and de Schoolstraat cannot be used by any srt of traffice, this is a foot path.

Problem with Navigator on my mobile Galaxy S4 mini.

I have loaded the last sw Navigator 1.3.24, I have loaded the last map of France (OSM 44-201408310), but there is still no bridge between La Rochelle and isle of Ré => no routing possible between the continent and this island.

Someone has an explanation ?

Tomtom "Unknow Route" / Trajet inconnu (fr)

Mapfactor didn't find my favorites routes (and others) since I bought Tomtom Map [Voice message : Unknow route / trajet inconnu (fr)].

I reinstalled the software and reinstalled the Tomtom Map but the problem is still the same.

I never had a problem with the free Map.

Any idea about this Tomtom bug ?

Hallo zusammen,

ich hätte folgendes Problem:

Habe auf meinem Samsung S3 die App Navigator geladen und wollte die Offline-Karten auf der SD-Karte abspeichern.

Bei der Installation von Navigator wurde ich auch prompt gefragt, ob die Offline-Karten auf dem Telefonspeicher oder einer SD-Karte gespeichert werden soll. Hier habe ich SD-Karte gewählt.

Im Anwendungsmanager ist die Speicherbelegung wie folgt aufgeführt:

Anwendung 22,79 MB Daten 140 KB SD-Karte 2,58 GB Gesamt 2,60 GB

Hört sich ja eigentlich gut an. Dennoch kommt die Meldung: Interner Speicher voll

Blicke ich in die Speicherbelegung wurde alles in den internen Speicher geladen und nicht auf die SD-Karte. Diese ist nach wie vor leer.

Aus Platzgründen muss ich die Karten aber unbedingt auf die SD-Karte bekommen. Für eine Hilfe wäre ich sehr dankbar.

I have the following problem:

Have on my Samsung S3 downloaded the app Navigator and wanted to save the offline maps on the SD card.

When you install Navigator I was promptly asked if the offline maps on the phone memory or an SD card is to be saved. Here I have chosen SD card.

The Application Manager memory usage is listed as follows:

Application 22.79 MB data 140 KB SD card 2.58 GB Total 2.60 GB

Sounds like really good. Internal memory is full: Still, I get the message

I look at the memory usage was all loaded into the internal memory and not the SD card. This is still empty.

For space reasons, I have the cards but necessarily get to the SD card. For help I would be very grateful.

Mauritius mca Map bugs

Hello,

The updated map for Mauritius Island available for Navigator FREE has got a bug. I believed first that it was due to a bug in the OSM map. But this is not the case as OsmAnd using the same OSM map source does not show the problem.

Between 2 roundabouts (20°17'12.2"S / 57°31'29.3"E and 20°19'15.6"S / 57°32'31.3"E), the existing motorway M1 cannot be used.

It seems that the conversion from the OSM source (which is correct) to the .mca maps failed somewhere.

Mad map crashed Android App - re-download map(s)

I may help somebody, who has similar issues.

Starting last weekend my Android app every time crashed, when it seemed to need the map (search locations, navigate etc.) When I noticed, that PC Navigator did even not start to the map (of Germany), I thought, there may be something with the Germany maps.

In the PC setup utility part of selecting the maps I unchecked the German maps, confirmed and checked the German maps again, what resulted into a new download of the relevant maps. Those maps (also transferred to the phone) brouht life back to PC Navigator as well as the Android map.

There must be somethin gone wrong with a previous map download I assume.

By the way, support could not help. I had sent the log files to support using the relevant function right from the Android app. Support answered, that there were no attachments to the mail they had received. I was asked to use another mail-agent. I checked an found the mail including all attachments in the sent folder of K9. I forwarded the mail three times to my mailaccounts (same and different) and received all three mails including all attachments in my PC's Outlook. I forwarded from there again to the given Android support mail-account of mapfactor. Approx. 27 hours later I asked, if they could consider my issue and they answered, that they could even not find any mail from me ...

Now I wonder, where the problem could be. Somebody must have eaten up my attachments and mail.

Reading maps without gps

My phone will not read a SIM anymore so I cannot use data. I downloaded mapfactor to be able to look offline at the maps. The maps have downloaded but won't open unless GPS is online. I cannot see anyway to turn on GPS without wireless and also I don't understand why I can't just view the maps as they are. Be grateful for any help asap as I am travelling and tis a real issue right now.

How to edit maps?

And another question. When I want to navigate to a place, I get 2 extra places (With white flags), to set as waypoints. How do I delete those?

New phone - transfer of maps

I just bought a new phone (S5) and wanted to use the software on this phone.
The map menu just tells me to buy them, no option to download the already bought maps.

How can I transfer the maps to my new phone?
Do they need to be activated?

Map Missing?

I have a Windows CE 6 device. I have successfully loaded the Navigator 12 Free software and almost everything looks to be OK. I have downloaded and installed the United Kingdom OSM and United Kingdom maps along with the Speed Camera Maps. These appear to be on the SD card, although when I manage maps on the CE device, it only appears to see the two speed camera maps - not the UK ones. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?

after downloading the newest maps
(openstreetmap) I noticed that in some South Eastern European countries (e.g.
Hungary, Romania, Slovenia) the names of greater cities which have due to
historically reasons German and/or Hungarian names, the displaying in the map is
not unique (sometimes german name sometimes local name). Is there rule behind
this selection or does this depend from my personal settings if possible?

I would prefer the displaying like it is in
openstreetmap.org. So for example the local names Sibiu/Cluj-Napoca instead of
German names Hermanstadt/Klausenburg in Romania. Actually it is quite
confusing.

I downloaded recently "MapFactor: GPS Navigation" from google play for give it a try with my two deviced: a LG P350 Android and a Tablet 7' oem, both with GPS.
I've decided to try it because my old original TomTom One v1 is almost not functional for supply problem with car cable.
I read that is possible to use a TomTom map, but there aren't so much info about how do it if you already have a TomTom original map like me.
I've an "Europe Map for TomTom One v1" of 3 years ago and I like to try to use it if I can do it ^^;

Hi, i'm using mapfactor navigation on an android device with 3.5" screen. I can't read the name of places in the map because the text size is too small. Is there a way to change the size of the used fonts somehow? Maybe a config file or a font file that i have to modify? Best regards chrisz
