Route creation problem

Hello,

I do not understand why navigator does not find a car route from this segment (Chemin : ‪Liaison avec la Sarre‬ (‪560815240‬) | OpenStreetMap) to this segment (Chemin : ‪Liaison avec la Sarre‬ (‪445536696‬) | OpenStreetMap)

In Openstreetmap, I just modified the pedestrian crossing which was not in tunnel mode, could the fact that the pedestrian crossing was not in tunnel mode create a conflict with the highway?

More an more Bugs(?) with every update????? ;(

In the past, the Navigator always ran without any problems. Now with every update there are new things that don't work:

1. rather funny: speed limit 255 on "Autobahnen" with no speed-limit (ist not an OSM-Problem - its nearly on every Autobahn with no limit)
2. The navigation voice stopps "talking" after a few minutes (this is definitely due to the latest version - I installed an older one, so it works, then the newest one, then it doesn't work again)
3. Lethal navigation instructions. Here, too, the error lies in the app and not in the OSM data, as this behavior occurs on almost ALL runs with this design. I have already deactivated "turn" in the vehicle profile. Still the same
4. Suddenly "way-signs" (what do you call the signs with the city names on them?) are no longer displayed. I also didn't find a point in the settings.

Android Auto favorites (my places) list display only the first few items

While using MapFactor on the phone without AA , I have a list of around 12 favorites(my places).

When I plug in the cable and activate AA , when looking on the car screen and going on the car screen on MapFactor at favorites I see only the first few items (5-6) in the alphabetical order , meanwhile there is a gray scroll down button that doesn't display the other items.

I need to always delete most of the favorites and let only about 5 so I can see them all on the car AA or just put A in front of my new favorite just so i can see it on top of the others.

Please fix it.

Wrong English (US) translation of "From" ("Langue's")

Tools -> Odometer -> History

contains a list of journeys with time, departure, destination etc. The English (US) translation of the word "From" for depature is strange.

English (UK): "From"

English (US): "Langue's"

Expected: English (US): "From"

route color pale yellow

Navigator Free v. 19.1.4, Windows CE

Changing the value of in settings.xml (or default_settings.xml) makes no difference for me. It is not even the default value that is rendered (9903FB), but instead some semi-transparent pale yellowish colour, which is almost invisible.

Changing e.g. the works well.

What is going on? How can I change the colour of the route? It is useless as I cannot see the route on any primary road (rendered yellow) and it is barely visible on any other. :-(

Hi,

When I'm at Keßlerstraße and trying to route to some destination, he tries to route me via Dr.-Franz-Hardt-Weg.
But that's not possible by car, there's a barriere from Keßlerstraße to Dr.-Franz-Hardt-Weg.

Could someone check it, please ?

speed limit in OSM

Hello,
it seems that, using the OSM maps, speedlimits are shown only for the 'maxspeed' tag.
The tags 'maxspeed:forward' and 'maxspeed:backward' are not used.
This means that for areas with different speedlimits in the different directions the speedlimit will not be shown on mapfactor.
One Example is 'line: 206068976'
I'm using Navigator 12.3.0 on windows mobile.

After new installation download doesn't ask for download location

I'm having a lot of problems installing the app again. It doesnt ask where to download the maps, it just downloads them straight to the internal memory. Changing location of the maps afterwards results in them being copied to the SD card but not moved i.e.they still clog up the ínternal memory. When you click on delete maps the app crashes. I'm not a happy bunny! Does anyone have the same problem? This happens on two different devices: Motorola G 2nd Gen Android 6 and Honor 8 Android 7

MapFactor Navigator FREE mutes after first speaking

I installed Navigator FREE v. 3.1.100 in my Intex Aquafish phone (SailfishOS with Android compatibility).

The problem is that the volume gets muted immediately after the voice says the first sentence (eg. "turn right").

I raise the volume, the voice speaks again, then the volume gets muted again, immediately after speaking and this is obviously not viable for a normal use.

I had no problems until some months ago.

I have the same Navigator FREE (even same version) installed in other devices (a phone with CyanogenMod and a Jolla tablet with SailfishOS) and no such problem there.

Edit color theme area pattern bug (Android)

If I edit (for example) the Woodland area in a color theme in the current Android beta version, and tap on the sample square patch at the bottom of the screen, I get a choice of solid, transparent or pattern fills. If I choose a pattern fill, for example trees, the sample square shows instead a line of 'x's across the centre ("road blocked fill" for line). When the new theme is applied to the map, no pattern appears at all.

Can't come back to menu (from navigation mode) anymore.

Since the last updates, I can't come back to the menu from the navigation mode (map).

Before I just had to push the "back" button of my phone, now if I do so, all that happens is that the app freezes some seconds, and then seems to close and I have to open it again..

Is it a bug or there is another way to open the menu from the map?

Mapfactor (Free) can't find updates

I have a question.

Since a week of 3 mapfactor cant find updates annymore.

http://navigatorfree.mapfactor.com/en/maps/ says the maps (for example) france is from 6 januari but the mapfactorfree application cant find them.

I tried also early access but it does't help

can anyone help me ?

POI bug with park

I was looking for the POI "park Arboretum Trompenburg" in Rotterdam but I could not find it in Navigator. I knew it had to be there as I had already found it sometime earlier in another OSM nav app.

It is tagged with leisure=park

I tried 3 apps and Navigator is the only one who did not find it. Is Navigator only able to find "node" POIs, in relation to "way" and "relation" POIs?

If so, Navigator misses a lot of POIs.

When I move the map to the specific location and click the park and request info it does mention "Arboretum Trompenburg". So Navigator does know it.

What kind of bug is this? Please solve

Android - strange route and wrong instructions

Hi,

what is proper way how to report such issues?

Route "turn right, go 100m, turn left (180°!)" while it is possible to turn left immediately at start (I believe older version was not routing by such way).
Instructions "turn left" displayed and navigated by voice while the turn on route is shown correctly on map as "turn right".

Full Screen Display

The Android head unit in my car does not display the Navigator map full screen. As a result the main menu is not displayed correctly with the text being cut off under the icons. By default the system audio app tab is displayed on the top section of the screen. I installed Sygic and it does display full screen so it must be a function of the app to request the use of full screen from the Android OS. I have tested the Navigator free maps on the head unit and it works very well, Sygic crashed after 20 minutes and would not restart.

Hangs from the People App

Hello,

I've been using MapFactor for a few days. Today I set it up so that when I click on the address of a contact in the People App, it opens MapFactor. It opens the menu asking if I want to navigate, Set as departure, Set as Waypoint ...

When I click on Navigate, it just hangs. I left it sit for about 1 minute before force stopping the applications.

Hello, Android version, everytime update app or map, my custom colors map is not in the list anymore.
Another important things is to Add IMPORT button in custom color.
Actually there is only Export.
Also export should allow to save in mobile memory not only send throught other app like email.

strange behaviour in Navigator free Android

hello,
i noticed a strange behaviour in the Android version of Navigator Free: 2.0.30.DEVELOP (downloaded from the "Play Store")
i have converted 30 POIs from .csv to .mca with Digger , the problem is within
the Camera alert POI selection: i have more than one poi that i want to be alerted when near.

what I do

1. settings -> Camera -> place a check-mark (the blue "V" like symbol) on some POI to be alerted when near it
2. scroll down the list (the first POIs disappear from view) to check some other POI
3. scroll back up and the check-mark on the POIs that disappeared from view because of the scrolling action are now on OTHER POIs which
   i did not initially select!
if i go back with the "<--" button without scrolling the screen then the selection is preserved
but every time i scroll the list to select/deselect some POIs, the POIs that have the "V" blue check-mark change randomly!

Hi Guys,
1 ) I got some strange situation when I try to search adress using android MapFactor version. When I try to find adress in Poland for example street Bojkowska in Gliwice I got some double or triple results. After select street bojkowska I got for example 10, 13, 14 after select another i got 16, 17, 40 etc. Why this street cannot be shown as one?

2) Is it possible to send me or upload android's language file to the crowdin.com like in WP version? Because in the polish translation, some texts are not translated :)

3) Could you tell me something more about vector graphic used in mthame? For example how to interpret:

Add to My Places bug

This has been bugging me for a long time and I keep expecting it to be fixed, but it continues...

Search for an address

Click Add to My Places

Click on the new place in the list

Select Navigate or Show on Map (the logical things to want to do, no?)

Instead of the map, the app goes back to "Enter House number"

It then requires 8 clicks on the back button to get back to the map and main menu, where I select My Places and then it works fine.

It's not a really serious bug. Just an annoyance.

Otherwise, I love this app and have used it in about 20 countries now.

Android 4.4.4 and now 5.01. Nexus 5 and 7. Mapfactor Navigator 1.4.24

Tomtom "Unknow Route" / Trajet inconnu (fr)

Mapfactor didn't find my favorites routes (and others) since I bought Tomtom Map [Voice message : Unknow route / trajet inconnu (fr)].

I reinstalled the software and reinstalled the Tomtom Map but the problem is still the same.

I never had a problem with the free Map.

Any idea about this Tomtom bug ?

[SOLVED] take the first exit (always)

Hello,

While using the MapFactor Navigation Free v1.3.43 with an OpenStreet map on Android 4.4.4, at a roundabout I was supposed to take the 3rd exit and the route was correctly displayed on the map. Instead of "take the third exit" I got "take the first exit". Just for kicks I did that. It recalculated the route, I directed me to return to the roundabout, but instead of "take the second exit" I got "take the first exit". Again I did it and again upon aproaching the roundabout I got "take the first exit", this time correctly.

I don't know if it'a a glitch in the map or if it's a bug in the program but, as the route was correctly displayed on the map (ie 3rd exit), I'd suspect a bug. You can see the intersection here: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.3895586,26.11813,17z?hl=en; I was coming from S-W (Strada Nitu Vasile) and going to N-E (same street name).

I'll try it on another roundabout and let you know what happens.

[SOLVED] Mapfactor bugs with shared location (Geo Intent). Android JB 4.1.2

UPDATE: Version 1.4+ has fixed this bug. For previous versions there's a proposed solution below in this thread using a google maps url with the daddr parameter as URI data.

In my case I use the app Easy Navigation to storage new destinations and of course I have set Mapfactor as my default navigator for the car. Then after tapping over a chosen location, the coordinates are shared with Mapfactor which automatically opens and shows the next option menu:

The bug happens when applying any of the three "Set" options inside the red area above (set as departure, waypoint, destination) as immediately after Mapfactor freezes and stops (next image). Which means that a shared location can not be set as destination and therefor the "Navigate" option doesn't work correctly.

I should remark that the same error happens with other apps trying to open a share location with Mapfactor (e.g. Geo Places, Here I Am!)

Phone specs:

Android JB 4.1.2

Samsung galaxy S Advance and S2 with stock ROM.

Hi,
the motorway exit in Weilerswist has been closed and will be closed for unforseen future. Somebody has set the links to access=no (its non public).

This is the Motorway exit - The motorway_links have an access=no since 2013 still MN trys to exit the Motorway at that exit:

Interpreting access tags is probably the worst bug right now. (together with barrier=)

offline navigation

Computation of the moving direction

First I would like to say that I am quite a happy user of mapfactor navigator free. I have used it on probably 5 different android devices and I think it is the best free app in this category that offers:

offline navigation
use of free maps (OSM)
an easy way of routing via waypoints
good UI, responsive interaction, working well etc

So on to the beef ;-) I have just bought a Nexus 5 and even before setting up facebook etc I installed mapfactor. I was happy that by copying my old file favourites.xml to the corresponding location I could keep my old 'My Places' directory. BTW, this should be the job of the android feature 'sync app data' but that works only with few and well known apps.

But on the nexus 5 I experience the following which I didn't see in any older device: When I move slower than some 7km/h (pedestrian mode or slow moving car), then the computed moving direction jumps wildly between -90deg off and +90deg off. So in navigation mode where the heading direction is towards top of the map this is kind of annoying, i.e the map rotates randomly. In all other mode I see the blue vehicle arrowhead twitching left and right.

Here is my wild guess for this behaviour: mapfactor calculates the moving direction from the most recent N position points (N is a constant) which it gets from the GPS sensor. Now, the Nexus 5 has probably a much higher rate of GPS data delivery. Therefore, the N most recent position points are more clustered together and the inaccuracy of the GPS measurement has a stronger impact. An obvious way to fix that algorithm would be instead of considering a fixed number of recent points, to consider all points measured during the most recent D *distance of travel*. D is a constant which must be a compromise between GPS accuracy and the level of detail of the shown trajectory. There should be a max number of points to consider and if that has been reached while the travelled distance is still smaller than D, then we assume zero speed.

I have some more comments but that's for later...

lane assistant: road sign and displaying lanes

With regard to the original location with the strange behavior:
chattiewoman mentioned that she didn't see a lane assistant and I didn't
either. At first I thought it was an error in Navigator as chattiewoman
obviously expected to see one.

However, it is correct behavior of Navigator the way it is currently programmed as the data is not there for the complete lane assistant (lanes + road sign).
Next to the: "turn:lanes=through|through|slight_right" it should also contain the tag "destination:lanes=||Hannover" or
"destination:lanes=none|none|Hannover" to bring up the (complete) lane assistant in Navigator at this moment (1.3.24).
But actually Navigator treats this now as a combined function and it should not:
The "turn:lanes=through|through|slight_right" should show the little arrows (2 straight on, 1 as exit). (see lane assistant)

The tag "destination:lanes=||Hannover" (currently not existing) should bring up the road sign (verkehr schild)
However, Navigator Free expects both tags to be available to display both the lane assistant and the road sign (see here), otherwise it doesn't display either.

To me this is a bug in the gui as it should be:
if "turn:lanes=through|through|slight_right" or "turn=through|through|slight_right" => display lanes
if "destination:lanes=||Hannover" or "destination:lanes=none|none|Hannover" => display road sign

(this makes it immediately a feature request to implement it as two separate functions)
