Map overlay - adding

Does anybody know how to add additional map overlays from OSM. I would like to see some more detail on my maps ( similar to an OsmAnd default map) such as wooded areas, buildings etc...I have bought the TomTom maps hoping for more detail but they are very similar to the OSM apart from house numbers.Any advice would be appreciatedThanks
