Where to fill in old registration info.
  • Also if navigator will ask for your registered info, don't forget to fill all
the fields like order id and registered email address when activating please.

A German users asks, where to do this, when reinstalling Navigator after a new setup of his phone

  • there is no need to register with free maps
to reactivate TomTom maps we need users to email logs (files in folder navigator/log) from their NEW device and also order ID
  • The question is not to register free maps. The question is also not to set up a new device.

The question is, what to do, if a user sets up newly his existing device with tomtom maps, that he already had paid for. That was the question he put to navigator, but he did not find the place, where he could do, what he was asked to do:

"Also if navigator will ask for your registered info, don't forget to fill all
the fields like order id and registered email address when activating please."

  • providing device ID is the same, user can re-download maps any time
if device ID changes, we need users to email logs (files in folder navigator/log) from their NEW device and also order ID
  • Again and again and again:

What does this mean, what does this mean:

    "don't forget to fill all
the fields like order id and registered email address when activating please"

    "don't forget to fill all
the fields like order id and registered email address when activating please"

    "don't forget to fill all
the fields like order id and registered email address when activating please"

    "don't forget to fill all
the fields like order id and registered email address when activating please"

This is something, the user got from Mapfactor Navigator in an E-Mail ... But he does not know where to give this information. I wrote it twice before.
  • may be he has Windows version?
  • May be you just don't want to answer?

He put the question in an Android Forum.
  • If you have the same device and you just delete maps & installation, you won't see this dialog, because it should work immediately after re-installation. If you do hard factory reset, change SIM cards or upgrade your Android OS your deviceID may change. If you still have maps on your SD Card your license key may not match with new ID, so you will get this dialog. If you completely wipe out maps, installation and your device ID has been changed, there is no way how to distinguish you from "ordinary user of Navigator Free" so it is necessary to contact support with mentioned information.
    Is it more clear now?
    regards

Edit: mine Deutch ist sehr schlecht (?) ... just comment to original link to android-hilfe.de ... If you do not have downloaded maps and there is no key available on our server for your new device ID, you will not get the dialog, and instead you enter e-shop. Hopefully there will be soon (?) a new feature for "license transfer" directly in the e-shop.
